This earthquake sequence is well represented in catalogs and reports. Most information available on this earthquake appears to originate in the Oregonian account: "... April 9.... Four towns in Pine and Eagle valleys reported a series of mild earthquake shocks at intervals last night and early this morning. ...Shocks were felt at Richland, Newbridge, Sparta and Halfway. The first shock was felt at about 9 o'clock, when windows were rattled in Richland and Halfway. Another followed shortly before midnight, another an hour or two later, and still another at seveal points about 6 o'clock this morning. Some reported four shocks, while some said they felt five. The Richland union high school was the scene of an entertainment. which was interrupted by the first shcok, which rattled the windows. A lodge gathering was similarly interruped. The shocks lasted only a few seconds and were not (?) violent. No property damage was reported at any point. The first (?) tremor was the heaviest, though a good many were awakened by those later in the night, reports from Richland and Halfway said."
