What is probably a single earthquake close to midnight Greenwich time is reported as being on 1/6 by weather observers in Weston and Milton, OR, and on 1/5 by the observer in Stanfield, OR. Reid also reports that it was felt in Pendleton at 3:15 local time. No newspapers have been researched.

Transcription: Stanfield 45 degrees 50' N; 119 degrees 15' W PST 3:10 pm 5 Jan, 1924 GMT 23h 10m IV-V; MWR; Georg. desp. Shock reported at Milton & Weston it ? home on Jan 6, probably an error of date. Pendleton felt a shock about 5:20 am PST. All of these towns are near together.
