The Oregonian says: "Soon after 9 o'clock tonight there was a distinct earth tremor felt here. The direction of the vibrations were apparently north to south. The shock lasted nearly two seconds and was sufficiently strong to rattle windows in dwellings."

Windows are Rattled by Tremor That Lasts Two Seconds
Ashland, OR., April 2--(Special)-- Soon after 9 o'clock tonight there was a distinct earth tremor felt here. The direction of the vibrations were apparently north to south. The shock lasted nearly two seconds and was sufficiently strong to rattle windows in dwellings.
