Transcription: EARTHQUAKE SHOOK CITY--STRAITS AREA WAS CENTER
A series of three heavy earthquake shocks awoke and startled many city residents about 2:20 Tuesday morning. The shock was felt with varying degrees in different parts of the city. The Victoria seismograph registered distinct shocks at the same hour, pointing to the disturbance center in the Straits of Fuca. At the same time the seismograph at the University of Washington failed to record a single tremor. It is regulated for receiving long distance rather than local shock impressions it is declared. |
