Mr. Fred Plummer reports: "Earthquake at 5:07 a.m., N. 40 degrees W.__11 miles from summit of Mount St. Helens. One sharp shock vertical. Intensity IV. Distinct rumbling preceding for four seconds, near at hand toward the mountain." At Green River mines, Washington, IV, lateral, rumblings.__P. " |
