| Previously uncataloged. From the Oregonian: "Sprague, May 4. - [Special]-- We experienced quite a shock of earthquake about 12 o'clock last night, and another at 1:15 this morning, in this city. It appeared to travel northward, as it was yet more visibly felt in Harrington, some twenty-two miles north of here. No casualties." Sprague is located southwest of Spokane at about 47.25N, 118W; Harrington is at the junction of Routes 23 and 28. The Washington Standard suggests that these earthquakes were the events felt in Puget Sound around the same time. This seems unlikely, but not impossible as the times are quite similar. Newspapers in central Washington should be checked. |

| Transcription: It seems that the shock of earthquake felt here on the morning of the 3rd inst. shook up a wide extent of the country. It was felt at Sprague and other parts in eastern Washington, besides at the western extremity of Puget Sound. |
