| The source of this information is indefinite. Bradford says: "The inhabitants of Sultan and the surrounding country insist that there was a shock of severity about the time of the great earthquake in Japan of that year. ...The writer found testimony to this effect consistent over a large territory." A search of newspapers for the month of July, 1923 found no mention of such an event. Newspapers reviewed included the Seattle PI and Times, the Arlington Times, the Monroe Monitor, the Snohomish Tribune, and the Everett Herald. |
