An undersea earthquake listed only in Reid's notes: " Captain C.H.McLeod, of the bark "Agate" experienced an earthquake shock which lasted nearly one minute. At 3:55 am another shock was felt, which was not so severe as the first shock. Sensation was as if we has struck a coral reef or a rock. Sea smooth."

Captain C.H.McLeod, of the bark "Agate" experienced an earthquake shock which lasted nearly one minute. At 3:55 am another shock was felt, which was not so severe as the first shock.
