| Transcription: SUBMARINE:     off OR 43 degrees 40' N; 128  degrees  50'  W September  2,  1906  0:45 am (ST), intensity-heavy, duration nearly 2 min 3:55 am (ST), int- not quite so  severe,  dura- tion  shorter -SBI, pg 131; U.S.H.O.  Captain C.H.McLeod, of the bark "Agate" experienced an earthquake shock which lasted  nearly  one  minute.  At 3:55 am another shock was felt, which was not so severe as the first shock.   Sensation  was as if we has struck a coral reef or a rock.  Sea smoothe. |
