| All catalog listings are in agreement with the Oregonian report: "Earthquake in Lincoln County     Newport, Or., Jan 27--An earthquake shock was felt  in this section yester- day at 2:45 pm. The shock was of  about 3 seconds duration. Houses were shaky till the dishes  on the shelves rattled. The vibrations appeared to come  from a northerly direction, and was accompanied by a slight  rumbling noise, like thunder. Reports from Alsea bay state  that the shock was felt quite strong there about the same  time." |
