| Volcanic Activity Mt. Tacoma (Rainier) steam plume. Known only from Plummer's article in the Tacoma Ledger  - February 28, 1893: "On June 16, 1884, at about 7 p.m., jets of steam were seen shooting upward from the summit  of  Mount  Tacoma  to  a considerable  height.  This phenomena was repeated at short intervals until darkness cut off the view.  There was no fire, and no earth tremors  were reported." |
