Investigations

This proposal covers the purchase and installation of three strong-motion accelerographs in the Puget Sound area. These instruments will be integrated into the Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network (PNSN), and three additional instruments are being installed under the PNSN operations agreement (1434-95-A-1302). In addition to on-scale recording of large earthquakes, these instruments will provide data from smaller earthquakes which can be used to predict the likely effects of larger earthquakes.
